Redskins Officially Re-sign Safety Brandon Meriweather


WASHINGTON (CSBDC) – The Washington Redskins have re-signed safety Brandon Meriweather, the team announced on Tuesday.

Meriweather, 30, started 13 games for the Redskins in 2013, missing two games for injury and one game on league-administered suspension for delivering a helmet-to-helmet blow to Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery in Week 7.

Although terms of Meriweather’s deal were not disclosed, he will reportedly earn $1 million on a one-year contract, according to NBC’s Dianna Russini.

Meriweather had 69 total tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2013.

He’s registered 364 tackles, 15 interceptions for one touchdown, three sacks, five forced fumbles and two fumbles recovered in his career.
