National Pyrotechnic Festival in Tultepec, Mexico

National Pyrotechnic Festival in Tultepec, Mexico

Americans launch fireworks, on July 4th, to celebrate our independence from Great Britain in 1776.  Mexicans launch fireworks, for nine days straight, to celebrate pyromania at their annual Pyrotechnic Festival in Tultepec, Mexico.

Hundreds of pyrotechnics compete to synchronize a 30 min firework display to music, which sounds awesome.  A second event, called pamplonas, sounds a little scary.  This pyro-rendition of Running of the Bulls, involves mechanical bulls, strapped with over 4,000 fireworks, to motor down the streets of Tultepec, while attendees run from them.
