Thank you for visiting my blog!
My name is Luke Buchanan. I am a 25 years old, who recently moved back to D.C. to work in residential real estate. I also enjoy working on my blog, http://www.LukeBuchanan.com, and doing volunteer pet photography for http://www.petfinder.com, covering political events for http://www.HispanicLink.org, and taking pictures of anything else I deem photogenic.
A little about me:
I grew up in Washington, D.C. with three brothers – two that are five years older and one who is my age. Needless to say, there was never a dull moment around the house. My early years are highlighted by sports (lacrosse, tennis, football, hockey, and wrestling), girls, and the usual teenage shenanigans.
In 2007, I started at Tulane undergrad, where I double majored in Environmental Studies and Communication, played Mens’ Club Lacrosse, and served as Pledge-Class President for my Fraternity. New Orleans is the perfect location for a work-hard-play-hard mentality, and I did just that.
Post graduation, I accepted an offer at an Advertising/PR firm in Santa Monica, packed my bags, and moved out West. Advertising is like AMC’s “Mad Men” – we lost a major client and a tumultuous acquisition ensued. Content with my stay in California, I decided to return home but not before enjoying the perks of unemployment for a few months! Maybe I could have “pulled myself up by my boot straps” – or whatever the saying is – instead, I couch hopped for several months, paddle-boarding in Marina Del Ray, and cycling around Malibu. More to come!
